On 10 May 2026, we attended Black&White, a special culinary event organised by JRE, as a partner. The evening offered an experience beyond a traditional fine dining event: guests and chefs sat together at one table, sharing stories, inspiration and the ideas behind their cooking.
The event took place at the new JB restaurant at Arboretum Volčji Potok. The setting added to the elegance and character of the evening.

Food That Tells a Story
The menu brought together creations from four exceptional chefs:
- Tomaž Bratovž of JB opened the evening with an amuse-bouche.
- Filip Matjaž of COB brought a taste of the sea with octopus lasagne.
- Andrej Smogavc of Sparagus offered his take on tradition: pork with a potato gnocchi and black garlic.
- David Žefran of Milka provided a memorable finish with a dessert of sheep’s cheese, unripe tomato and juniper.
Each dish carried the character and signature of its chef, making the evening a culinary experience with many distinct stories.

JRE Awards and a Commitment to Excellence
The evening also celebrated the JRE Awards, an important part of the organisation’s work. JRE promotes high standards in hospitality and recognises individuals and businesses that contribute to the development of gastronomy.

A Community That Creates More Than an Evening
For us, the value of events like Black&White reaches beyond the food. It lies in the conversations, genuine connections and shared passion of people helping to shape the future of gastronomy.
